This is a general guide for installing my mods, if you need it.
General Installation
The best Civ mods range from total conversions—transforming historical Earth into the world of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire or Elder Scrolls' Tamriel—to tools that improve AI. Trying to figure out which mods I have are DLL and was told to find the Mods and DLC folder but: 1) I can't find that folder. I can go to finderdocumentsaspyrSid Meirs Civ 5mods. In general, the Civ V Steam Workshop is notoriously bad when it comes to installing mods reliably. Deleting your cache folder in My Games Sid Meier's Civilization 5 usually does the trick, as this will force the game to redownload all your currently subscribed mods (this does not affect your saves).
- Load the game application and select the mods screen.
- Click the enable button on the mods you'd like to activate.
- Click NEXT (not Back). Wait for the 'Configuring Game Data...' popup to complete.
- Play!
Steam Installation
- Select the green Subscribe button at the top of the page. This will automatically download the mod into your DocumentsMy GamesSid Meier's Civilization 5MODS folder. If it doesn't, you can try restarting the game application. If it still doesn't, deleting your cache folder in My GamesSid Meier's Civilization 5 will force the game to redownload all your currently subscribed mods (this does not affect your saves).
- See the General Installation instructions above.
Manual Installation
- Download the .civ5mod file by copying the mod's Steam Workshop URL into steamworkshop.downloader
- Place the downloaded .civ5mod file into your DocumentsMy GamesSid Meier's Civilization 5MODS folder. You can either leave it and let the game install it for you (in which case, move onto step 3 below), or you can manually unzip the file (.civ5mod files are civ's unique compression format).
- See the General Installation instructions above.
Mac Installation
You can install mods onto the Mac version of Civ by following this guide. Note, however, that mods that include or depend on a custom DLL are not compatible with Mac versions of Civ.
Troubleshooting
Mods For Civ 5
In general, the Civ V Steam Workshop is notoriously bad when it comes to installing mods reliably. Deleting your cache folder in My GamesSid Meier's Civilization 5 usually does the trick, as this will force the game to redownload all your currently subscribed mods (this does not affect your saves). If that fails (or redownloading ALL your mods doesn't appeal to you), manual installation is your best bet.

Multiplayer
Civ V Mod Folder 1.12.2
Civ V does not officially support modded multiplayer, but there are some workarounds (see below). However, I cannot guarantee that my mods work in MP and attempting to do so is at your own risk.
